A heart filled with love has no room for hate.

We at KidSafe Collaborative are deeply committed to ensuring that we confront and address the systemic racism and inequity that underlie the horrific violence and killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and so many others recently and throughout the history of our country.

KidSafe is a partnership organization comprised of community-based agencies, local and state governmental agencies, individuals and businesses.

Together, we share a commitment to improving the health, safety, and well-being of children, youth, and families. We can't stop there, though, and we must look deeper: at ourselves, our community partners, and the systems that impact children and families. We are committed to listening, learning, and taking action to end systemic racism whether in child welfare, law enforcement, health care, education, etc.

The KidSafe Collaborative Board of Directors has established a DEI Committee, which meets monthly to discuss and review KidSafe Collaborative policies and practices along with issues we are seeing within the child welfare system in our county and state. The KidSafe Collaborative Board of Directors and staff has committed to bringing a DEI lens to all work and meetings with our partners in the community, listening to and elevating the voices of those who have been continually marginalized in the systems we work within. If you are interested in learning more about KidSafe Collaborative’s efforts, please reach out to us at kidsafe@kidsafevt.org.
