Meet Our New Executive Director!

We are delighted to introduce our new Executive Director, Meghan Masterson! Meghan has served as KidSafe Collaborative’s Assistant Director since September 2021, and was the clear choice, after a thorough selection process led by our Board of Directors, to lead the agency going forward. She will take over the reins on January 1, 2024.  

 

Sally Borden, KidSafe Collaborative’s Executive Director, will be stepping down at the end of this year after over 25 years. “Meghan's leadership will bring both continuity and exciting new developments to KidSafe Collaborative,” said Sally. “I am thrilled to be leaving this organization in such incredibly capable hands.”

Development & Partnerships Manager Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week) Salary: $27.76/hour, plus benefits Location: Burlington, VT (Hybrid work options available) Reports to: Executive Director Position Overview The Development and Partnerships Manager is a leadership role at KidSafe Collaborative, responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the organization’s comprehensive fund development plan. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this role is focused on increasing and maintaining sustainable revenue streams through grant writing, donor cultivation, events, and external partnership building. The Manager works in partnership with the Executive Director as a fundraiser and leads initiatives to build relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation supporters. This is a supervisory position, responsible for direct supervision of the Development and Administrative Assistant. This position offers significant growth opportunities and professional development available to enhance skills in nonprofit leadership and fund development. Key Responsibilities Fund Development Strategy and Management (50%) Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive fund development plan with clear benchmarks and goals. Develop expertise in KidSafe’s donor database (Little Green Light) through training and professional development to ensure its effective use for fundraising, donor tracking and stewardship, reporting, and other functions. Serves as KidSafe’s internal expert and trainer. Track and analyze fundraising performance, providing regular reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors. Identify and cultivate relationships with donors, funders, and external partners to grow financial support. Work collaboratively with the Executive Director to align fundraising goals with organizational priorities. Grant Writing and Management (30%) Research, identify, and apply for grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government entities. Develop compelling grant proposals, reports, and supporting documentation. Establish internal systems of collaboration and information sharing to support the fundraising process Build relationships with funders to maintain and expand funding opportunities. At the direction of the Executive Director, ensure compliance with grant requirements and maintain accurate grant records. Event Management and Donor Engagement (15%) Lead the planning and execution of fundraising events, including annual campaigns and donor stewardship events. Collaborate with staff, Board members, and volunteers to maximize event success. Develop donor recognition and stewardship programs to build and maintain relationships. External Communications and Partnerships (5%) Represent KidSafe at community events and networking opportunities to enhance visibility, collaboration, and support. Work with the Executive Director to develop communication strategies for donor outreach and impact reporting. Collaborate with staff, Board and community partners to gather success stories and data that demonstrate KidSafe’s impact. Qualifications & Experience 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, or development within the nonprofit sector. Demonstrated success in creating and managing a fund development plan. Proven experience securing funding through grants, individual giving, and events. Strong writing, analytical, and research skills. Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities. Experience managing fundraising events and working with volunteers. Familiarity with donor management software (Little Green Light preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Suite Passion for KidSafe Collaborative’s mission and commitment to child and family well-being.
