Community Response Teams
Community Response Teams (CRTs) have developed across Vermont as a way to bring together diverse partners in coordinated support of families impacted by substance use, with particular attention to pregnant individuals, infants, and young children. While CRTs intentionally reflect the unique needs and resources of their geographical regions, they are united by a common commitment to serving the same core population and by a shared philosophy of the importance of structured, multidisciplinary collaboration.

Strengthening Care for Pregnant and Postpartum Individuals Affected by Substance Use: A framework for building coordinated, compassionate, community‑based support systems
This guidebook was created to ensure that every Vermont community has the tools to build and sustain a strong Community Response Team (CRT). The vision is that it will support regions without an active CRT, assist active teams seeking to strengthen their existing work, and serve as a resource for statewide evaluation and system-building.
